The »White Rhino« is one of the largest land mammal on earth. Due to decades of poaching, only about 18,000 specimens still live in the savannahs of Africa. It has a head-torso length up to 380 cm, a shoulder height up to 180 cm and a weight up to 3.5 t in bulls. Their main feature is their enormous horn, which can reach a length of up to 1m. 
Adult bulls live alone and have a fixed territory of max. 50 km². The territory is usually defended by a dominant alpha bull against other adult bulls. The territory owner has the privilege over mating with females. Boundary crossings by other bulls lead to theatrical, highly ritualized fights. One late afternoon in September, I witnessed this magnificent spectacle. As if ordered for me, the sky turned into a dramatic scenery of breathtaking clouds with the sun low at the same time. Let's wake up and finally start preserving our nature! Our children and their grandchildren should not only learn about its unique magic from documentaries of the past. There is no Planet B!
