Giusy Rampini Italian , b. 1973

"Through my work, I seek to reveal the hidden essence of animals—their raw strength and spiritual power—inviting viewers to reconnect with the wild, instinctive forces within themselves. By stripping away their natural environment, I aim to portray them not as mere creatures of nature, but as profound symbols of resilience, balance, and the journey of life that mirrors our own.”

Giusy Rampini was born in Gardone Val Trompia, Italy, in 1973. Her deep passion for animals and nature has profoundly influenced her art, with a fascination for animals that began amidst the breathtaking landscapes of her hometown. Animals have remained her favorite subjects to this day.

Giusy’s formal artistic journey began at the Art Institute, where she first trained as a fashion designer before transitioning to fine art. Under the mentorship of renowned painter Adriano Grasso Caprioli, she refined her skills in oil, tempera, and fresco techniques. Her commitment to artistic growth later led her to study engraving at the prestigious IL BISONTE International School of Printmaking in Florence and sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Santa Giulia in Brescia.

Over the years, Giusy has mastered multiple mediums, including oil, tempera, watercolour, pastel, and acrylic. Her work is deeply inspired by the beauty of animals in their natural habitats, particularly alpine wildlife like chamois, deer, and roe deer. Her unique ability to capture the essence of animals in their environment brings an emotional, almost magical quality to her work.

Giusy’s art now prominently features African wildlife, depicting animals with a focus on both physical beauty and emotional depth. Her approach combines direct field experience, observational sketches, and photographic studies, adding a layer of authenticity to each portrayal. Using a limited, earth-toned palette, she emphasises the textures and movements of her subjects, often isolating them on canvas to allow the viewer a profound connection to the animal’s spirit. This minimalist approach creates a contemplative stillness that highlights each animal’s raw energy and individuality.Through her art, Giusy strives to foster a greater appreciation for wildlife and raise awareness of the delicate balance within natural ecosystems, encouraging viewers to engage with nature on a personal level.

Giusy’s talent has been recognised in numerous exhibitions, most recently in 2023 at the “La Milanesiana” festival, where she presented her work at the Ceribelli Gallery in Bergamo. Her work has been widely featured in publications and on magazine covers, further establishing her reputation as a celebrated wildlife artist.
