Akyol is using the heritage of portraits as a source of extraordinary richness in art history. What brings the young artist to the fore is that he brings together portraits which he selected from different historical periods and different cultural connections with an extremely original dialect. In his canvases elements of popular culture, traditional life, popular and modern painting, lyricism and irony come side by side in a dynamic harmony.

His paintings focus on the representation of mythical and historical figures covered by a thin layer of a delicate floral pattern. Throughout his mastery, Kadir has developed an ability to render anachronistic portraits with an overwhelming sense of greatness, purity and modernism.
